Who we are

NADO is a Non-Government Organization (NGO), registered with the Department of Social Service (DSS), Department of Women affairs (DWA) and NGO affairs Bureau. Since 1989, NADO has been implementing different kind of development activities in 1,363 under the District of Gopalgonj & Barisal for the socio-economic uplift men of the poor people, especially women, disables and children covering 55,000 people and number of beneficiaries are 8000. NADO has been implementing different development activities with the supports of 6 donors, who are from local, national, international, foreign donors etc.

It has total 52 staffs who are well qualified, trained, and has 3-25 years experiences in the field of rural development. NADO has been imparting different training courses like social analysis, leadership development, water and sanitation, environmental sanitation, rain water harvesting, social mobilization, care takers training, TOT on WatSan, environment development, capacity building of UP members, Union and Upazilla Arsenic mitigation Committees, good governance development among the UP members, local elite, leaders, religious leaders, political personnel etc. primary health, nutrition, TBA, family planning, natural family planning, accounts and record keeping, skills development, technical training, gender development, fish cultivation training, tree plantation, nursery development, homestead gardening  etc. Each year NADO conduct 100-150 training courses and same number of workshops and seminars. All these training courses, seminars and workshops are conducted in the own training centers of NADO. Because, NADO has 9 regional offices and 9 regional training centers and it has 4 sub-offices with 4 sub-training centers, which are fully fledged training centers.

NADO has extensive previous experience with working on community development activities, water and sanitation activities, Save drinking water supply, Health & Hygiene practice, Arsenic awareness raising, Community Development Program, Rural Women Employment Creation Project, Women Development program, Non-formal Primary Education, Child & Adult education program, Public awareness and  employment, Distress Women Training Program, Distress Women Training Program, Fishers Program, Social Forestry, VGD Training Program and hygiene activities for long time with the help of National & International Donor’s, such as Asia Partnership For Human Development (APHD), Hong Kong, Department of Women & Child Affairs and Bangladesh Krishi Bank, Ministry of Women & Child Affairs (Government of the people’s Republic of Bangladesh), Australian High Commission, BRAC, NGO Forum, PROSHIKA, Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation (BADC), Ministry of Environment & Forestry Affairs (Government of the people’s Republic of Bangladesh), CARE etc.
